A month to go…
As the title states, it is now a month to go until the big day. I am getting quite nervous, as always. My nerve pain has decided to escalate to a huge level, which is at war with me CRPS. As usual, one is setting off the other! So, the burning and stabbing is relentless. Which means training is quite tough. Along with this fun, my Fibromyalgia is rearing its ugly head over and over again! But there is far too much riding on this event to let pain stand in my way. I can’t let down the charity or the amazing volunteers who are giving up their valuable time to help me. Plus, the pain is there no matter what I do, so I may as well carry on regardless. 😍 There have been some amazing bits that have happened lately. Cartridges Law put on an evening event for me to showcase my achievements from last year, launch this year’s event, and speak about next year. The mayor of Exeter came along, and so many wonderful people. It was such a great evening, and I felt truly honoured to be there and have so many people supporting me.

Also, I now have a coach. My friend introduced us. She is a pro rugby player and one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Plus, she’s a really good coach. I am very lucky she took me on and hope that together, we will achieve the records I have planned this year and next. Hopefully, if all goes well, there will be 2 more this year and 2 next year. One very big one, which will be a first for a male or female! We have had a few sessions so far, and she has been amazing.
Lastly, my wife and I are beginning a new project where we will be on the board of directors for an amazing new charity. More news on that to follow. So all is going well, despite the usual crps level of destruction! We also have backing for next year’s venture, which is going to be super tough. From there, I’m not sure which event to do after that one. There are quite a few which I would like to do. Basically, whatever would raise the most funds for charity!
So that’s me off to stretch in a moment and get ready for a 6 hour training session tomorrow, which isn’t too bad. My longest session so far is 10 hours. So 6 really is alright! I’m under strict instructions to behave myself and not go too fast! 🙂
